If storms or other disasters force evacuation from Rancho Cucamonga, the evacuation will be easier if we know that pets and large animals will be safe as well. SERVPRO of South Rancho Cucamonga is sharing these tips from FEMA
Before Rancho Cucamonga Requires Evacuation:
- Plan for vehicles to evacuate large animals
- Consider micro-chips for all animals, large and small
- Make sure that the information on tags is correct, and securely attached to a collar or harness
- Arrange for shelter, food, and water for large animals that cannot be moved to safer places
- In case of separation, have a photo of yourself and your pets and other animals
- Identify pet friendly shelters
- Each pet will need a leash or harness and/or a carrier
- Keep a copy of each pet's required medications (including prescriptions) or special needs
- Contact information for veterinarian
Pet Emergency Kits:
- 3-day supply of water and food for each pet
- First-aid kit
- Favorite toys and blankets
- Whatever you find keeps your pets happy
- Extra treats
- Medicine as needed
- Extra litter and litter box
- Waste bags
